Welcome to June!
During the past month, I have rediscovered my passion for quilting. It has proven to be an excellent meditative and creative pastime. I love choosing the design, then selecting the fabrics that will be cut and arranged into blocks.
It reminds me that in life we slowly put together the blocks of our life by what we choose in each moment. Life brings us a variety of colours and textures each day, which we lay down beside the previous day, slowly building our quilt called life. For myself, the top is what intrigues me; I managed to stitch together five quilt tops in a short period. Once each top was complete, I sandwiched it with the batting and backing and then basted it so that it will hold together through the quilting process.
If you have ever hand quilted, it takes time. You do pick up speed with practice, but it still can take hours to quilt a piece together. I like the hands-on approach and feel more connected to the piece as well as feeling I have achieved something. It is like each stitch I place infuses the piece with love from me.
My stitches are not perfect, and while I could take out the stitch that goes astray and replace it with a perfect one, I don't. Life is not perfect. It is not all joy filled just by its very nature, and in life, we are not given a chance to change events that happen to us. Instead, we must keep going forward, living each day to the best of our ability, no matter what comes our way.
So I chose to leave the imperfect stitches. Because when the quilt is completed, it is not the imperfect stitches that catch the eye; it is the beautiful colours, the whole piece that strikes us and captures our breath.
That is what life is about! Facing the myriad of choices that each day presents to you and selecting the best option for you at that moment. Remember that hindsight is 20/20, but you cannot go back to any point in time and change it. Don't get hung up on it, instead move forward with the understanding that there will be other choices. Don't worry about being perfect, do what you love with great zeal, and stress less about what others think. Your life is yours, and you are creating a beautiful life. One that you will look back upon and see how each piece fit together perfectly, imperfections and all.
This month promises to be filled with beautiful options for each of us. Choose the most colourful and see how you can enhance your life. Make it the best that you can, each moment and don't forget to infuse it with lots of love.
Welcome to May!
April flew by this year! Well for me it did anyway, perhaps your month was at a gentler pace. Ours was filled with adventures, caring, celebrating and rejoicing in the few warm sunny days we had. Living mindfully in each moment tends to bring about a grace of knowing you were busy and active, but not always knowing exactly how your time was filled. Do you ever experience that? Perhaps someone will ask you “what have you been up to?” and your mind draws a blank, even though you have barely had time to settle or sit for weeks.
I have taken up keeping a journal of sorts, alright, so it is not something new I am doing – I am just trying to keep it going longer than a week or two. I have discovered this about myself, I tend to be fired up about things and run with them fully engaged until it becomes mundane, or something, because I am not doing it as often. The novelty wears off. Or, and this really plays a part for me at least, life gets busy and there is no time to do that which really lifts and excites me. It is during those times that I feel the most ungrounded and find myself not wanting to do anything. Yet life is such that we must attend to our responsibilities or end up feeling overwhelmed by all the tasks to catchup on.
In journaling, I discover what really feeds my soul. I find that when I sit down to make a few notes about the day, only the best parts of the day exist. The sour notes don’t stand out and seem to slip into the background. If they are still lingering strongly, I understand that I need to work on healing and releasing them.
Try keeping a journal, it might just surprise you what the important bits of life are, those worth recording. You might discover that the moments that sustain you are those which are the simplest.
May should be full of fun memories to journal about as the month is just starting and my “dance” card is filling up nicely. Not to mention the flowers should be riotous as we had more than our fair share of rain in April. I am also hoping May will be warmer, I am itching to be out doors without having to bundle up, and my toes really want to be free from the confines of closed shoes.
May you blossom this month along with the flowers. Take time to tend to your inner garden, nurture it with good food, good friends - laughter is the fertilizer of a life well lived, get some rest, enjoy some beverages, and watch how your life warms up from the inside out.
Welcome to April!
Sometimes you get lucky and see something that blows your mind and heart wide open. The picture on the right is one of those things, and trust me the picture does not do this piece of art justice. I was pleasantly surprised to discover Radiant Runes, a Vancouver Island artist, at a Gem and Mineral show in March. The energy that these pieces gave off was indeed incredible. A beautiful, natural mix of crystals and wood, which is hand selected. Once selected, each piece becomes a work of art, which has small light strings threaded through to light up the crystals from below. Check out Radiant Runes on Facebook and Etsy; you can purchase directly from there. 10% of all profits go to the Cumberland Community Forest Society. Trust me when I say the energy is very pure, it is very fresh, and I attribute that to the gentle energy of the artist, Jon Baker. The company’s motto “We need the darkness to revel in the light.” Looking forward to selecting a piece to call mine this month!
Seeing this reminded me that we need almost to take off our “eyes” so to speak, and not to see things as we always do. To look beyond face value into the depths, and indeed see something for all its potential. How many of us would notice the branches that have fallen off a tree in a windstorm and see a piece of art waiting to be created? What could we see in our world if we put down our conditions from past perception and see it with fresh eyes? I think we would see that there is so much hope and promise.
Today my soul was urging me to let go of my logic and find a puddle to dance in. To throw caution to the wind and disregard that my hair does not like the rain and just go for it. To let my thoughts slip past the idea of wet socks and ruined shoes (yuk) and just enjoy the pure joy of jumping in a puddle and seeing the water splash up. The birds seemed to be in agreement with my soul and were chirping cheerfully. I could almost hear them say “puddle, puddle, puddle!” It brought a smile to my face, but alas, logic and being at work won out, but the joy of the thought stayed with me all day!
There seems to be magic afoot, and I encourage all of you to find something that brings joy to you, no matter how silly or insignificant it seems. April, the showers might be torrential, but with the showers comes the hope and promise of a beautiful spring. Soon everything will be budding and blossoming, the flowers, the trees, and even you.
Welcome to March!
As we step into March anticipating the arrival of Spring, I relax into this moment and feel a sense of excitement. I am not sure what fills me with this sense, I know Winter is giving no quarter this year, but rather showing us that Spring does not get its day until the 20th! I am not even sure that it will give over then, it might linger a little longer this year. I pause to savour the moment and a picture of many events taking place this month that will surprise and delight us floats in. It behoves us to relax into the month without expectations of what will be, but rather just to enjoy each moment as it arrives.
I was reminded of the value of having no expectations just before the end of February. I was unclear on what the power animal should be this month, so I asked my gang to bring forward the animal they would like me to communicate with. I asked, then carried on with my morning routine. Imagine my delight when two racoons came zipping into my backyard. Playing as if they were puppies! I have never seen Racoon’s play before, and I was enthralled with watching them, they stayed in my view for five minutes. It was joyful, and I silently laughed and thanked my team for coming through so quickly. I truly did not expect it.
It is moments like those that delight me the most. They bring home to me just how much easier it is to wait for the right moment rather than struggling to make something happen. Life flows smoother, and I am not so tense. It might mean that sometimes things slide, and I have to learn to be ok with that, yet in the overall scheme, life truly is better. It becomes magical, filled with wonder and joy that no amount of me wanting something seems to bring.
No matter what surprises await you this month, they can either delight or trouble you, know that this month signifies the return of Spring. Spring always returns with its riot of colour no matter how harsh the winter. Enjoy each awakening bud, each blade of grass that rises from the earth, return every smile that greets you, and check your expectations at the gate this month; see what wonderful delights blossom in your life.
May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.
–An Irish Toast
Welcome to February!
January was an interesting month, colder than normal for my area, snow – again not normal for my area and coming down with a strange bug that landed me in bed for five days, and then continued to haunt me with lower energy levels for the rest of the month. The bug, while not welcome, did provide for some quiet time, lots of sleep and rest which included reading a couple of books. During that time, I was given the message that we are all in a time of gathering, time to gather our resources, shore up our defenses and be prepared for this coming year. The energy has shifted with this being a one year, and while we don’t know what this year will bring to us, we must be prepared to accept all opportunities as they arrive. We are all more than we think and might just be surprised by the awesomeness that awaits us. The time for complacency has left the building and now it is time for us to stand proud of who we are, and know we can accomplish anything. In this time of gathering it is important to realize that you are not others, but unique in your own right. What works for you will not necessarily work for others, and that is one of the things you need to gather and honor – to each his own with compassion for all unique ideals.
As we step into February we participate in Groundhog Day on the 2nd. Personally, this “event” used to always bring me anxiety. Would the groundhog see his shadow or not? I would wait with baited breath as a child to hear the results. At some point during my 20’s I realized that no matter if the darn groundhog saw his shadow or not, spring would not arrive until March 21st, so either way winter was on its way out! Now I choose to honor Imbolc, which celebrates the half way point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. Imbolc happens February 1st this year. I don’t think we should dismiss the groundhog that easily though, after all I love to delve into what different animals mean.
“Take time out for meditation and self-reflection. Use Groundhog energy to go deeper and to dig out what is unseen within you. You are being asked to explore altered states of consciousness deeper. The answers are within you – however you just have not dug deep enough to find the root of it. Groundhog can also be letting you know that you need to pay attention to your metabolism. Be aware of how your diet influences your natural bodies cycles and to make dietary adjustments to balance the workings of your body. Alternatively, Groundhog can be giving you fair warning that you have overstepped someone boundaries or someone is overstepping yours. Best is to resolve the situation with respect and from the heart.”
Valentine’s Day is another day to celebrate, even if you are single, the love that you have in your life. Not just the romantic type which is what all the companies who gain huge revenue around this holiday want us to do. Celebrate that you love yourself, your family, your pets, your friends. If you are averse to even thinking about this day, take heart, it is also Ferris Wheel Day! Celebrate that!
Other weird “holidays” in February, something for everyone to grab onto and celebrate – National Weatherman's Day, Send a Card to a Friend Day, Kite Flying Day, Don't Cry over Spilled Milk Day, National Battery Day, Be Humble Day, Tell a Fairy Tale Day, National Tooth Fairy Day. I kid you not! Check them out on the internet!
No matter what you choose to do this month, take time out of your busy weeks to have some fun. Schedule a celebration of joy into each week and remember what brings you joy feeds your soul.
Today as I say goodbye to 2016 it is with mixed emotions. There were some good times and some not so good times, however, here I am feeling blessed for all that has come to me this year. After careful consideration I decided to send off the year with a green flame, I have not done a green flame in quite some time it is awkward on my tiny balcony, but today it felt appropriate.
This is one ritual that I absolutely love doing. It is rather simple and doesn’t require lots of ingredients and the effects are both amazing and wonderful. The Green Flame Ritual can be used for many purposes. I happen to like it as a releasing ritual, and could not think of a better way to release 2016 before welcoming 2017.
The first thing you need to do is think about what you are ready to release from your life. Don’t take this step lightly, really think about what is in your life right now and what you need or want to let go of. Write them down. If you wish, you can write them down on small pieces of paper and fold into little packets. Personally, I don’t always write them down, but I do spend time thinking about what I am going to give to the flames. Time to gather the ingredients and pick a time when you will fire Green Flame up. I recommend doing green flame outdoors. One never knows when working with flames what can happen. Make sure you are in an area free of overhanging debris; an open area works best if you have a fire pit even better! You will need a tin can; any size will work except for a small fish can unless you want a small ritual. Soup cans work great. Rubbing alcohol, 99% works best for having the best green flames. Epsom salts. Place some Epsom salts into the can, over them pour the rubbing alcohol, enough to cover. Once all is gathered and ready, I call in my angels, asking that only what is ready to be released will be released. When I feel ready, I light it with a match. I sit and watch the flames as they dance around, now is when you would gently place your little pieces of paper into the flame, or if you are like me say into the flames what you are releasing.
Everyone experiences something different. Once the flames were shooting about 3 feet into the air, and when I would feed it something I was releasing (intentionally as I don’t write them out) the flames went small and looked like they were chewing it up. Other times the flames have been small until I place something into them and then flare up. I do know that whatever I am releasing always goes, hence why you need to give some serious thought to what you wish to release.
Today I could tell I have not done Green Flame for some time, the flames flickered high and burned bright, right up until they flickered out. I will be doing one again soon, only this time I will use it to manifest what I wish to have brought to me for 2017.
I always feel lighter after doing a Green Flame. If you wish to give it a try, today's energy is perfect all you need is some Epsom salts, rubbing alcohol and a tin can. Even if you don't know what you wish to release, just watching the flames will be enough. Remember as with all fires please use caution! I would love to hear of your experiences with Green Flame.
Namaste and Happy New Year to all!!!
I love this time of year. There is light everywhere and typically good cheer. The world seems brighter and love seems to be louder than any other month of the year. It is like we lay down our worries and cares and universally gather round to celebrate. Most countries around the world have a tradition that is based on a faith story that has been passed down for centuries. It seems that December gives us hope. Even when we feel all might be lost, it shows up to signal the end of the year and we begin to get excited about what the New Year will bring.
There is always something to bring a smile to your face this month unless you are truly a Grinch! But even the Grinch’s heart grew so there is hope for all humanity that peace will reign if only for a brief period. Yes, there is lots to smile about during the year, but this month seems magical. All wishes and dreams can come true if only we believe.
As we step into December, take a moment and give thanks for all that 2016 has brought to you, even the bits that you wish had not transpired. For in gratitude one finds the grace of serenity. Know that you did the best that you could and utilised the tools you had at your disposal.
Then as the month unfolds, spend time with loved ones and friends, as tomorrow is never promised to any of us. Ensure you capture as much joy as you can. Give to those who could use a helping hand so that they may have joy as well.
Quietly sit and dream about your goals for 2017. And raise a glass of cheer for the dreams you left behind because they no longer fit into your ever-expanding life. Growth is a marvellous thing. It moves us forward beyond who we are, into our future selves who have bigger dreams and goals to achieve.
The longest night of the year arrives on the 21st heralding winter. Light a candle and welcome winter along with the promise of spring.
No matter what plans you have for the month ahead do so with joy. Laugh, love and know that you are truly living. Blessings to each of you as we close out 2016, thank you all for being part of my journey and may 2017 be filled with blessings overflowing!
Cheers and good will to all!
As I sit to write this, a couple of thoughts are floating in and will not leave. One is “time keeps on slipping, slipping, into the future.” and the other is “a year from now nothing will look the same.”
I contemplate both and realize that the message coming through is that each moment slips into the next, the future. We can go along being in the moment doing this and that and without notice, we are in the future. We can daydream about our future, make lists of things that we want to achieve and do, yet until we live the present moment we do not arrive at our future. Does our focus on the "lists" have us desiring the future faster? Bucket lists are all the rage (you can google things to put on a bucket list or print off actual bucket lists). Let me tell you that some people's lists are rather extensive, and I wonder if they want to cross each one off, or if they are creating a pie in the sky dream. Perhaps at some subconscious level, they feel the need to have a list just to keep up with the Jones. Those lists project our dreams into someday land and in a sense keep them alive and give us hope.
Someday might never arrive. In the past year, so many have left this earth or have become sick, diagnosis: terminal. It seems that old age is not the most common cause of life ending. I wonder if those who have left knew that time was slipping, or that what troubled them today would no longer cause them stress. There is always a reason to not grab the dream by the hand and make it happen now. Every trouble takes precedent in our life, front, and center.
In contemplating these deep thoughts, I am not melancholy. Rather, it makes me realize that tomorrow is not promised to any of us, and how precious each moment is. I don't have a bucket list, and some days I wonder exactly how productively I spend my time. Each day is filled as I wish to fill it. It must be so, for I am the one doing what fills my days.
Bucket lists or no, time keeps on slipping, slipping into the future! Make each day great, appreciate every detail, and understand that what you experience today will only be around for a short period. Next year at this time, on this very date, you will be living a whole different life.
So grab your sweater and set off on as many adventures as you can this month. Fill your time doing what you love. Mostly enjoy this moment, the one you are in right now, for all on its own the future will soon enough be the present.
There go the months we term as summer, and we step into the last third of the year. We still have three weeks until Autumn officially arrives, but somehow the beginning of September seems to be the mark of change.
My thoughts as we come into the month of September are rather erratic! Nothing appears to stay in place too long before a new thought replaces it. Leading me to believe that the month ahead will be one of rapid change for all of us. UGH! Or YEAH! Depending on which side of the fence you are sitting. Are you ready for change or do you wish things to remain the same?
Recently I returned to a town that I had lived in for 28 years. I was surprised how much things were the same even though I could see change all around me. Just little things, but change none the less. I have been gone for ten years, yet enough was familiar that I could make my way about easily. The heartbeat of the town was still there ensuring that life thrived there.
I thought about how most of us avoid change, but change always has a huge impact on our lives. Change that takes us by surprise is the hardest to come to terms with, and on the flip side of that, change that we initiate can be hard as well. It does not have to even be a big change to have an impact. Through all change, there are things that remain the same. Inside each of us, we are still our soul, we can change the color of our hair, what we wear, where we live, or what we do, but within us, our heart still beats. Our basic makeup does not change. WE might become hardened by life and the changes flung at us, but deep within our heart still beats and carries us forward each day. No matter what we change a piece of us remains true to us.
As we slowly step into September, I ask that each of us steps into whatever change comes our way with gratitude. Gratitude that no matter what our heart still beats on and carries us through life so that we may live it to the fullest. Don’t be daunted by what life tosses you, instead raise your chin and smile your brightest for you are amazing and stronger than what life can toss at you!
Where life will take us we never really know until we arrive. July started off with much promise and was quickly, for me, turned upside down when my ex-husband passed away in a motorcycle accident. The heart retching cry of our daughter as she informed me will be etched forever into my heart and mind. As a parent, all I wanted to do was wave a magic wand and fix it for her, make it all better. No magic wand can bring someone back.
Each day is a roller coaster of emotions when something catastrophic happens in our lives. We look back on what has been, and yet have to continue to place one foot in front of the other in a forward motion. It can be so daunting even to consider moving forward or imagine how you can move forward. Society while compassionate expects you to keep going. And somehow each of us does. It is not easy, every. It does not matter what event brings a tsunami into your life picking up the pieces and finding normalcy takes time.
If you are going through a life, “tsunami” be gentle with yourself. Take each moment and day as it comes. Have faith that you can survive. While you may never be the same person you were before the tsunami, you will be stronger, wiser and eventually know peace within your day to day.
The deer picture above was snapped during one of our visits to my daughter. Deer brings us this wisdom; you have the power to deal with challenges with grace. They remind us to heal our wounds with compassion, love, and gentleness. As a mom, it showed me how diligently she watched over her twin fawns who were hidden behind some grass, much like I was doing with my child. Giving them room to explore but every vigilantly protecting them as best she could.
As we gently slip into August, I wish for all of you a quiet, gentle month ahead. May the summer days warm you with enough sun-kissed memories that should a tsunami hit your life, you will have them to reflect back upon and be a ray of love and joy in a gloomier moment.
July has arrived and with it, I am hoping that time will feel like it is moving forward once again. I say this because, in June, time felt like it was standing still. An odd feeling that is hard to put into words.
I thought about why it was feeling still, and what came to me was; it is not still, time is a unit of measure for humans. However, in the universe, time is irrelevant. It has no bearing, and while you feel it has been standing still, it has been moving forward, you just can't measure it by your standards.
Time, it seems, was created to bring order to our experiences. Think about it. If we had no time to measure the hours we need to work in a day, when would we start or finish? If we could not set appointments up with healthcare, or financial providers, would that be better or worse?
The sun rises at a different time every day, and the moon rises at a different time each night. If we rose with the sun and slept when darkness fell, well our ancestors did that long, long ago. They did not measure time. They survived by doing what was required, with the technology/resources available to them.
For the most part, I do not use a clock. Sure I work for a company so have to be there and leave at a certain time, but for the rest of my hours, I try to go with the flow. It catches me sometimes when time flies by quickly or slowly. Have you ever been so engrossed in something that when you lifted your head, it was dark and you wondered how that happened? Or been doing something that seems like it is taking forever only to discover a few minutes have passed? That is what I am meaning.
It came to me that I had been trying to make things happen in my time frame. How I wanted things to go, and hence that is why it felt like time had frozen. Obviously, it was not going as I planned! Or at least how I thought it should. No, I needed to understand that just because I could not see progress, it did not mean it was not happening. Chasing dreams requires following my intuition, my desires, my hopes. The rest will take care of its self in perfect time, on universal time, which does not exist by our measured standards. Hence all things happen when they should, and not one moment sooner!
Keep chasing your dreams; it is never too late to realize whatever you desire. Time is a measure to create order in our world, our outer world, our inner world has no constraints, only the constraint of how much we desire something. The choice is always ours, keep pushing forward - even if nothing appears to be happening, or give up - and perhaps miss the blessings 5 minutes before they happen.
Will July fly by quickly and have you wondering where it went? Or will it languish slowly and have you thinking time froze? Either way, ensure you fill it with lots of fun, love and laughter. That will ensure the best use of the hours available to you as you step into the adventures of July!
While driving to work one morning, a familiar ad came on the radio. It was for one of the “big” fast food restaurants, advertising “a special” day whereby you purchase select items off the menu, and they will donate $1.00 per item to charity. Typically, the charity is the same each year.
A flood of other companies, which do similar “special” promotions, came to mind. I feel we are being duped and led into feeling good about it. I mean let’s face it, these are multi-million dollar companies who would be donating to charities regardless, if only for tax purposes. I am even guilty of partaking in one of these “donation” days. It is fun, you fall into the hype and feel that perhaps you can’t afford to make a difference on your own, but as a collective of others, you can make a difference. These special promotions are not to be confused with the “would you like to donate $xxx to _____” at the till of grocery stores. Those are not asking you to purchase items which make their bottom line grow.
I thought about the cost a family would incur by participating in one of these donation days. If instead of supporting the corporate company, because they still make a profit even if they are donating a portion to the charity, we donated the cost of the meal to the said charity, a bigger difference would be made. On this particular day, at this restaurant, it probably costs a family of four approx. $30 for a meal, potentially $6 goes to the charity providing you purchase the “special” items. How much farther would your $30 go? Some will argue with me that – we still need to eat; however, that is another “thought form” as it costs little to prepare a meal at home as opposed to eating out.
It does not matter which “special” day we speak about. The bottom line is, we can do so much more than we think we can, just by putting a little thought into how we spend our dollars.
It is the same with life. How do you spend, not only your money, but the time you have? Are you investing in yourself or are you investing in others? Don’t get me wrong, we all need to invest in others, for from that we earn incomes which sustain us. We also invest in our well-being by spending time with those we care about and in causes we are passionate about. How we spend, not only our money, but our time, has a huge influence on how productive our lives are. Are we contributing wisely? How much further would your dollars and time go if you first invested in yourself, then donated to others in a worthy fashion?
Take the month of June to contemplate how you spend your dollars and time. See how much you can raise, just by investing in yourself. Nurture and nourish yourself and give as much to you as you would to others. After all, charity begins at home and expands outward!
Beloveds, we come to you with a message that we hope will comfort you. If it provides some insight, we celebrate, and if it provides you with an “ah-ha moment” all the better! Many of you are experiencing what you call “ah-ha moments”, and the beautiful soul we channel through is no different. We love how her eyes and heart light up when everything clicks into place and she “gets” what is relevant in that moment.
How things worked in the past is not going to work now. In fact, we will go out on a limb and say they have not worked for some time, yet you still insist on using the old pattern. For many of you this is causing stress. It is part of the never ending changes that are taking place right now. Some of you are discovering that no matter how hard you work towards meeting an achievement, it is elusive, just out of reach. Like someone is holding you back, keeping you struggling. Yet we are here to tell you that is not true. You are deserving of what you desire, but the grander picture, which you are not able to see, shows that your expectations of how it should look exactly, are out of alignment with your highest good. WE encourage you to take this as a sign. If you are exerting effort after effort and what you desire is not coming to you, stop! Stop exerting yourself, release the desire and ask your angels and guides to show you the unencumbered way of achieving it. Then trust that what you desire will come to you in due time, and will probably exceed your expectations. Oh, we understand that trust and patience are not everyone’s strongest attributes, especially when they really, really want something, yet you need to have faith and realize you are not being punished. You will be blessed.
You know that feeling, it is as if the heavens aligned and parted the clouds in the sky so that a ray of sun shines down on you – only you. Everything falls into place so easily and you are left standing there, wondering how you deserved this blessing that has come to you. You are not even sure you do deserve it, but graciously accept and give thanks. That is what is coming for you now, blessings. Unexpected opportunities are opening for you, and you only have to be willing to receive them. This is the new energy and pattern at play. It does not require you to put a thought out of what you desire, it rather likes surprising you with the unexpected. Not always will the surprise look enticing, but go with it, for you are truly being blessed with gifts that you would never have thought of. Gifts, if you walk the fine line right now of not trying to control each and every little thing, will land at your feet.
That is the energy right now. The old is transitioning to the new, and all of you are wandering in this space between the two. This is why some days you get lucky and the old patterns work, and then it feels like the rug is pulled out from under your feet. It is the space of what was and what will be. Accept that you are in the unknown and be curious, explore this new energy, feel it with all your being and then sit with it. Ask nothing of it, just acclimate yourself to it. It is unlike anything that has been before, and we wish to tell you that it holds many gifts for each of you that will unfold over the coming years. For now, the gift is one of healing. Healing the past, whatever has caused pain, anger, discomfort is transmuted. No longer do you need to keep going over and over these incidents, if one comes to the surface, forgive it, make peace with it and say goodbye. If you are able, make peace with the one who caused the pain, or if you caused suffering to another make amends as best you can. It will be released and healed. Set yourself free, you are the judge, the jailer and savior in every past experience you have had. Accept the gift of being healed. Know that you are free to enjoy each day that comes your way, and if something does not go exactly as planned, know that something better will replace it.
The Power of Three
Swing sweetly, softly, slowly, the new is arriving on the wings of blessings for each of you.
You are on the precipice of wonderful happenings. Not without, but within, for what you are seeking will first be found within your soul, and then it will integrate within your heart. Peace will be yours when the old sloughs off and you are cleansed by the winds of the new. This means that you will begin to see things from a different perspective, the blinders will be taken off and truth will start to shine brightly for each of you. No more will you wallow in the self inflicted dramas, but will rise above them and see how you have played a part and how you could have tranquility if you but decided to follow your natural flow within the universe. Stop resisting and allow the divine path that has been set before you to be your guide. Each and every day we are with you, and we provide the signs that lead to ease. No need to take the hard knock path, for that was never the intent nor the purpose of why you are here. You see, my dears, you are here for the purpose of love. Love what you do, do what you love, and love will shine forth from you unto all those who are seeking to be at peace. Love and peace are not separate, if you feel dis-peace, find out where you are not loving yourself and resolve to correct it for then you will know peace. When you feel stuck, it is only your limited thoughts and beliefs that have placed you there. You live in a time when whatever you desire can be yours for the asking and then following the steps laid before you. More often than not you do not desire something as strongly as you thought, and the mere thought of taking the steps, doing the work involved, lead you to lay down that desire and pick up a new one. Sometimes fear rears its ugly head and tells you that you are not deserving or that you can not possibly achieve your desires. Yet ultimately, you are in charge of how your life is. You are the artist who creates the picture on the canvas of your life. BE bold, BE brave, for you were born programmed to know what you desire and to have it at the same time. Step into this new year knowing it WILL be wonderful! Accept nothing less, and if a quake happens, know that you have the power, the tools, and the wits to change it to what you desire. Seek your soul and celebrate the beauty of being you. You are needed and appreciated, and we thank you for your earth angel assistance.
the power of three
Hello Dear Ones,
We come to you this month in a rush of excitement and love! We are so very proud of you and all that you have accomplished this year. We understand that you are coming to the end of your earth year, and as such we want you to take a break, slow down, and savor all that you achieved this year. To often you scurry around so quickly without taking a moment to allow yourself to see how wonderful you truly are. You rush from one task to the next, never pausing to fully enjoy the moments just past.
Now is the time to pull up a chair, settle in and assess all that you have accomplished and achieved this year. See the bounty of what you have planted, nurtured and prepare to harvest the best and allow some to go to seed. You should be feeling secure and hopeful about your future and you should be proud. You are the guardian of this rich fertile life. It can be hard to let go of something that you have invested your precious energy towards, however the time has come to assess if you will continue putting your energy into the situations, people and things you are already involved with, or spend your time and energy trying to bring something more bountiful to your life. Let the weariness slip away and fade out with the ending year and dream of a more abundant, bountiful year ahead.
Remove the illusions, fears and anxieties and delve deep into your heart and soul. Trust that you know exactly what you want and don’t want, and don’t wait for the issue to be forced. Take action. Know that when you close a door another one opens, and renewed good times lie ahead. You hold the key right now as the doorway to this year closes and the door to the new opens. This is the magical time when wishes can come true.
The future is assured and there will be bounty ahead. Remember, you are the guardian of your life. You are the one who toils to ensure ideas are planted and lovingly tended until they reach maturity. And just like seeds in a garden, not all of them will bear the fruit you want, but each will nourish you and provide for your sustenance as you meander your way through the new year.
Hold fast to the joy that is abundant this month. Celebrate your wonderful year, all of the events, even those that made you sad or angry for they nurtured you and allowed us to be ever present with you in support. Then when the bells ring in the new year, hear us sing as we celebrate all that you will create in the coming year.
By the power of three so shall it be.
The full moon of October arrives late in the month on the 27th. It is known as the Hunters Moon. Time for us to become the hunters, huntresses in our lives. I am actually feeling pretty excited about this full moon, it will be in the self-assured sign of Taurus, while the sun is in brave, ambitious Scorpio. Think long term success.
This moon will coax us to shed the layers of our old selves. The outdated prepares to fly the coop, time to take advantage and use this energy to release old patterns. Clear out everything – have a spring clean or autumn clean. Clear anything that feels old and fearful, what you do now will carry you forward.
In order to release these old patterns, we need to be aware of them. To be aware of them can oftentimes be scary, and I would like to dispel that fear if I can. Think of it as a tree losing its leaves in fall, or a snake shedding its skin (which it does about 2 - 4 times a year) – nothing scary about either of those. A tree loses its leaves in the fall so that it does not have to provide nourishment for them through the winter, and so that growth can appear in spring. In spring the tree is busy reaching higher (growing), buds appear and soon the tree is full of leaves. For the tree it is about survival and growth. The snake sheds its skin because it too grows and outgrows his skin. If he never shed his skin he would not grow.
For some reason, as humans, we choose to keep preforming old patterns, we like the familiarity of doing the same, it gives us comfort. Even when it brings us, over and over, experiences we do not wish to have. WE ask for more, but keep providing the same offering and expect a different result. That is what we are going to clear out with this full moon. Why are we going to let it fly the coop? Because we want more, and we are being given a period of time to work on long term success!
Of course I am going to call in the Angels, and my guides – the Hunter’s moon is said to help the veil between the worlds thin, so pay attention to all messages and visions you receive on the 26, 27 and 28th.
Get comfortable, relax your body, and mind with deep breaths, counting down from 10 until you are totally relaxed. If you are not relaxed when you get to zero, start at 10 and count down again.
When you are relaxed ask your angels and guides to show you the energy around you that is darker – representing the old that needs to be swept away. Breathe in and see that dark entering you – don’t worry, you are well protected and will be breathing out light, you are going to transform it. Before you take an in breath ask “what does this represent?” then take a deep, slow breath and see the smoke entering you, pay attention to whatever you hear, feel or see. As you breathe out, see the breath leaving you as pure white, think the fluffiest cloud against a blue sky, and know that you have released the old and have made way for the new to enter. Continue taking breaths in and releasing, slowly, until all the dark smoke is gone. Now focus on drawing in big beautiful breathes through your crown chakra, breathing in the universal white light of love, and feel it go deep within your body, and flow out the souls of your feet into the earth, purifying and cleansing you so that you are ready for the new. Once you have taken 3 deep cleansing breaths, ask your angels and guides if they have a message for you, connect with them and thank them for all the guidance and love they provide you. Then slowly count your way out of your meditation from 1 to 10.
As you move forward after this, if you feel stuck or unbalanced, be the hunter and track the smoke. Once you find the source, work on allowing it to be released from your life, and don’t forget to ask your angels and guides for help.
It would seem that right now I am being presented with the opportunity to learn about priorities and prioritizing. I will let you in on a secret and tell you I did not think I had to learn these, I am good at prioritizing and managing my time. Yet it kept coming to me, so I decided perhaps I should stop sloughing it off and take a deeper look.
No matter where I turned for advice, it all seemed to be the same “focus on your highest priority.” I had no clue what that was and actually felt it was best just to be present in each moment. Thereby, I thought, my highest priority would show up and I would affirm I was focusing upon it. So why then did “prioritize” keep showing up? Probably because I was not really focused on anything, it was an illusion I was deluding myself with, I was just bobbing along on the tides of life.
A great quote was presented to me “Everything flows out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right, is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates"--The Kybalion. Which reminded me that for everything there is an equal and exact opposite. To truly know what my priority was, I needed to know what it was not. Coming to that conclusion my friends was the easiest part of the whole equation.
I needed to take some time and ask myself “what truly matters to me?” Where to start? And even in knowing that I must take this time, I procrastinated by filling my life with distractions to avoid doing the work necessary. That is part of being human, we don’t fully engage in what matters. We are distracted by our fears, ego-obsessions, drama (in our own life and in the world around us), our ambitions, survival instincts and emotional reactions. We clutter up our lives with these distractions for the simple reason that it is actually scary to focus on what truly matters. It is easier to disengage and merely react to what’s going on around us. Somehow the clutter allows us to feel important in a world where we are trying to keep up with the Joneses.
To know what matters to us with certainty amongst all the conflicting beliefs, agendas, and ideas of the current day, is not easy. If we get it figured out, living in alignment with our values can take courage, commitment and thick skin.
It is sad, but for each new ambition, relationship, or experience we find ourselves in, something must be eliminated. This might hold a key as to why priorities take a back seat, even if they would make us over the moon happy in life. Often our energy is invested in holding something together because of the backlash we will receive from society, our family or our peers if we stepped away from it.
I decided that instead of investing in outside influences, it was time to invest in me. Take a deep breath and hunker down. First I needed to discover what was important to me. I find that keeping things simple works the best, no need to make a thesis out of it, who has time for that anyway? Oh wait, perhaps if I turfed the distractions I would have time! Nah, simple is best.
First, I made a list of the most important aspects in my life right now. Second, I made a list of how I spent my time during the past month. Third, I compared the two lists.
Through assessing exactly what was going on in my life, it was easier to understand priorities and why it kept coming up for me. It gave me the gift of awareness and the perspective of where things needed to shift. It did not mean that I had to fix or correct this in a single day. Typically that is my motto, reach the root – fix, fertilize – move onto the next root. If you find yourself drifting through life, take the time to assess what is going on. Drifting is akin to not caring enough about yourself first or making a difference in your quality of life. If your life seems cluttered, busy, stressed, or you have become dissatisfied, it might be time to look at your priorities.
1) Make a list of the most important aspects of your life right now. These aspects can and do change over time, so a check-in once and awhile is advised. If you wish, rank these aspects in order of importance.
2) Take inventory of how you spend your time. Go back a week, two weeks a month and include everything. Be honest with yourself and don’t edit out the activities you are not proud of. Ensure you include thoughts as well, what you spend your time thinking of takes your focus and time. Rank this list in the manner of where you spent the most time.
3) Compare the two lists. They will probably differ, no judgement, and don’t be hard on yourself, this is meant to point out the differences. Often the aspects we say are important to us receive the least amount of our time, energy and thought. Spend some time inquiring why this is the case. Ask yourself how you can create more alignment with the two lists.
What would your life look like without some of your major distractions? Prioritizing means that you are fully conscious of what matters to you, and you place your focus upon those aspects. “Focus on your highest priority” should mean to each of us – focus on what truly matters and distraction clutter will fade away.
Here we are welcoming June with all its splendor. Dads, grads, and summer solstice will fill our month with JOY!
This year has been chock-o-block full and we have not yet marked half way through this trip around the sun! On so many levels it is like the universe is saying “out with the old and in with the new!” Many beings are being called back to their essential “I am.” Mother Earth has been calling in Mother Nature and together they have been creating a whole new wardrobe for her to wear. The earth has been shifting, erupting, flooding and burning, all changing the landscape she wears. Change continues to be the theme and many here on earth are shouting “enough already!”
If you are one of the many, you are probably contemplating a TIME OUT! Vacations filled with fun are being dreamed about and planned. Our thoughts, rightfully, turn from the daily chaos to new hiking trails to explore, lakes to dip our toes into, sun drenched patios on which to sit and enjoy a frosty beverage, fireworks being displayed against the night sky, and lazy days spent languishing out in our yards. Yet through our desire to escape we need to remember to not drop the ball on important plans concerning our life evolution that will continue to unfurl over the summer. Burying our toes in the sand is ideal this time of year but we should never bury our heads.
Take a few days here and there, a few hours each day to renew, revive, heal and imagine. Our imaginations warm and blossom with the arrival of summer. Freedom seems to arrive with the summer breezes and our demeanor seems to brighten along with the sun.
Enjoy the splendor of summer, starting now. Taste the freshness being offered at every opportunity.
April 2015’s Full Moon falls on the 4th. This full moon is known as the Pink Moon, it was called such because it heralded the appearance of the moss pink, or wild ground phlox—one of the first spring flowers. It is also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and the Fish Moon.
This Full Moon is especially potent, as there will be a total Lunar Eclipse, expect the unexpected and be open to whatever comes, for the energy is helping to dispel the old in favor of the new. The energy might bring with it the realization that something needs to change. If you have a sense leading up to this moon, during the height of the full moon or in the 3 days following the full moon that you need to do something… quietly connect with your angels and ask for clear direction on what needs to shift. This is to diffuse the chaos that could be associated with the Full Moon. If you are open to using the energy instead of pushing against it there will be no chaos. Essentially, you are accepting what needs to happen and are willing to work to see it to fruition.
I am excited about this moon, this year has really been about releasing the old patterns and adopting new ways to look at things, or do things. I feel this is the push we need to see huge strides to clearing this up, and I also suspect it could be (if you chose) the last push needed!
In preparation for this moon on the 3rd set aside a good 30 minutes of uninterrupted time and allow yourself to go into a meditation with your angels. Nothing fancy is required, just the request “angels sit with me and guide me on this meditation. I would like to be shown, with grace and ease, what needs to be released that which no longer serves me. If there is a better way to bring my dreams and goals to light please show me clear the path I must take.” If nothing comes do not stress about it, nor think that everything is exactly as it should be for this will close down any insight that might come.
On the 4th, ensure you connect with your angels and ask that all chaos turn to blessings of peace. Go about your day paying attention to anything that comes up for you. This is a great day to change up your old patterns, one small change can have a lasting impact for you, instead of being afraid of change, take charge and challenge yourself to at least be open to new ideas and ways.
Today, as I prepare for the New Moon and also my Ho'oponopono healing group I decided to pull a card and see what the energy was for today. It ended up being two cards and the message is beautiful and very appropriate. If you wish to be a part of the New Moon healing group tonight, please check out my home page for the details. If you are unable to join the group, but would still like to be a part of this healing, I have designed the manual so that you can do this in your own time and space.
To quote a good friend..."you can't make this stuff up!" Both cards that flew from the deck this morning are preparing us for our healing journey. The timing is divinely guided that we should join in circle tonight and facilitate a personal healing. See Only Love, this is what the Ho'oponopono-Reiki healing is all about - releasing anger and hurt so that we may focus on love and joy. Let Your Past Go, exactly what we will be healing, the thoughts, emotions, and feelings so that we are in peace.
The New Moon arrives today and is in the house of Aquarius. Once again we are going to experience a super moon and as a special added bonus, drum roll please, this new moon is also known as a black moon!
Usually, there are only three new moons in one season, the period of time between a solstice and an equinox – or vice versa. However, there are four new moons in between the December 2014 solstice and the March 2015 equinox. Some people call the third of these four new moons as a seasonal Black Moon. Not much information is around on the significance of a “black moon” but I felt it should be mentioned.
The super moons strengthen our impact for change. Given that this New Moon is also a black moon, it enhances the tendency to turn inward. “BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD” is what is coming to me. This is the year to empower yourself, your intentions that you set right now should reflect this. On the 19th we enter the Chinese New Year of the sheep, a gentle year is promised with this yin energy. We collectively are being given the opportunity for personal greatness this year, and I think we should all jump on the proverbial band wagon and get er done!
Celebrate this New Moon with some me time. Whatever allows you to feel pampered and special set aside some time to indulge yourself today. It can be as simple as booking a massage to as elaborate as a mini vacation. No matter what you decide to indulge in, allow yourself to quietly meditate on where you would like to go this year, what area would you like personal growth in? Write them down in your journal. Do not try to figure out how you are going to achieve them, just allow them to brew and lead you in the direction you need to go. Be ready, in this way you will be able to embrace the new potentials emerging in your life as they happen. Welcome to a wonderful year of amazing! Celebrate you on this beautiful New Moon day.
Always thinking, always observing, always wondering and pondering the things that make life go round.
